1:1 Computers
All students now have a computer assigned to them for educational use. This Chromebook will follow them through their years here at Victor. Once students have received their device, they are responsible for it. Since 2nd and 3rd graders are still learning about how to be responsible with technology they will need some adult assistance. In school they will learn about how to care for a computer and also to navigate using it for educational purposes.
During the school year I ask that all computers be housed in our classroom. This eliminates the need for transporting heavy devices back and forth as well as helping with the safety and responsibility piece. They will not be required to use the device outside of school as part of their learning in grades 2/3. As they move up in grades they will rely more heavily on the computer outside of the school day. We will however use the Chromebooks during our school day as part of our learning. We have a computer cart with chargers located in our room, so individual chargers and computer cases can stay at home. If a family would like to have their child use their computer for educational purposes at home over an extended break from school (like Christmas or spring break), you can message me and we will work it out.
We also require each student to have headphones to use with the computers. There are many times when students will need to be able to hear information and it cannot be done aloud, so comfortable working headphones are necessary for our learning. Due to germs, we do not share headphones.

Classlink
Students use Classlink all the time at school, signing in with their google credentials. It has all the websites they use linked right on the page, so from there they never need any passwords. They are also able to access it at home on any computer. Use the link below to get to the site, then bookmark it for easy use!
